A Bittersweet Goodbye

Sydney's nanny, Beth, has been with us for five months.  She is a sweet and kind, gentle and loving person and she and Sydney have developed quite a close bond over the past months while she's been with us. She and Sydney have become great playmates and enjoy so many fun activities together, art projects, reading, puzzles, tea parties, walks, time in the backyard, trips to the park...they have had many fun times together!

This week Beth arrived at the door with a special gift and a sad announcement for us.  She will be leaving us at the end of this month as she is returning to school to pursue a lifelong dream of furthering her education in September.  While we are thrilled for her to be achieving a goal that she has long dreamed about, we are so sad to be losing her.  She has become a close friend and feels like a member of our family now, we will miss her!

Beth shares a love of wine with me, so she brought me a special bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Cupcake winery in California.  I love how she wrapped the bottle too, in shimmery gold fabric, it is very cool looking!  I will look forward to cracking the bottle and thinking about Beth and how lucky we were to have her for even a very short period of time.

It will be a bittersweet goodbye indeed when the end of the month rolls around!
