A Day in New Westminster & A Potty First!

Sydney and I drove out to Queen's Park in New Westminster this morning to meet up with Denise from Tiny Toes Photography to have an outdoor autumn photo shoot done.  Denise first met Sydney when she was just a bump, she did my maternity photos for me and did Sydney's newborn and one year photos as well.  We make a point of seeing her once a year around Sydney's birthday to get photos done and have always loved the portraits she takes so much!

We simply could not have asked for a better day for the photos today, the sun was shining and there was a blanket of yellow and red leaves on the grass all around the park.  We got some amazing pictures, I can't wait to see them when they are ready for printing!  Sydney did really well despite the numerous wardrobe changes!

After the photo shoot, we took advantage of the fact that we were out in New West, and went to the Carter's Children's Clothing outlet at Queensborough Landing.  What a great store this is!  I have long loved Carter's in the states and have been dreaming about going to the outlet store in Burlington, Washington for the better part of a year, so it was like a little fix getting to go to this Canadian outlet today.  The prices weren't as good as they are in the states but I still managed to come away with a heaping bag of super cute clothes for Syd.

I stocked up on both short and long sleeved onesies for her and got some very sweet sweaters and a dress along with a couple of two piece outfits and some socks.  It was so fun watching Sydney wheel my breezeway basket around the store and throw random things that she found into it.  I had to do a lot of un-shopping before heading to the cashier to pay!

We will certainly be back to this store, there was such cute things and really great price points!

Our day ended on a very exciting note, tonight at bath time, for the first time ever and without any prompting whatsoever, Sydney sat down on her little potty and went pee!  It was very exciting and she was so proud of herself!  I guess we're officially starting potty training ready or not....
