Catch-Up Day

Today was a slow and easy day.  Just what we needed at this point during the week.  We woke up late, lazed around over breakfast in our jammies, talked to Grandma on the phone for over an hour and washed up last night's dinner dishes.  I'm going to miss mornings like this when school starts!

We had a bunch of errands to run today.  Had to drop off our payment for the upcoming preschool year, pick up the key for the venue where we're having Syd's Bye Bye Diapers party this weekend and find some cool takeaways for the kids we've invited to said party.  It meant a lot of time driving around the city and shuttling Syd around.

Sydney has definitely inherited my love of shopping.  She gets so excited when we're in a store, instantly grabs a basket or cart and chatters non-stop showing me all sorts of amazing things that she's found and wants to buy.  It's quite cute to see what she picks up off the shelves, what catches her eye and interests her.

Today we hit up a new Dollar Store that my friend Michelle told me about.  It had such an incredible selection of party supplies, Sydney was going crazy throwing napkins and candles and plates into her basket.  My girl loves to plan a good party just like her Momma!

We found some great kites as takeaway presents for the kids at the party this weekend, Sydney was so funny in the car on the way home, she was chattering away, practicing saying; "Thank you for coming to my party. Here's something for you to take home.  It's a kite."

She has been saying the funniest things lately.  Today after Paul got home she was in his den with him while he was working on a bit of paperwork.  When he was done, she jumped into the chair at his desk and started "typing" away at the computer.  A few minutes later Paul went back into his den to check on her and asked her what she was doing.  "Printing directions for your patients, for after you take their teeth out," she confidently replied.  Where does this kid get this stuff?

Tomorrow we will put the finishing touches on the details for the party this weekend.  Sydney is just so excited to get all of her friends together to play and I am more than thrilled to do this for her.  She is such a big girl and has accomplished so much in her very short life, that alone is so worth celebrating!
