Shoe Shopping & A Tea Party

We woke up this morning to the most windy, rainy, blustery day that we have had in a long time!  It was absolutely monsoon like!  Paul, Sydney and I sat huddled in our pajamas looking outside trying to decide what we should do, or should we just call it a pajama day and stay at home?

We ended up deciding that a morning at the mall seemed like a good idea.  Paul needed some new work shoes, so we drove off to Richmond Centre in search of a pair for him.  That certainly seemed like a better idea in theory than in practice.  Poor Sydney was just dying to run off some steam and figured the large expanse of the mall was the perfect place to do it!  I spent most of my time chasing after her as she ran from store to store finding things that she was interested in!

Poor Paul tried on dozens of pairs of shoes, but couldn't find a suitable pair.  Sydney, on the other hand, found at least a dozen pairs that she wanted to buy so we narrowed it down to this one super cute pair of Sketchers Twinkle Toes.

These sparkly wonders light up every time Sydney takes a step!  They are super cute on her!

Later this afternoon Sydney and I headed to my friend Charlotte's house for a tea party.  Charlotte has just started a new venture, selling Steeped Teas, and was hosting a party at her home to have a group of us try the teas to see what we thought.

It was such a fun afternoon.  Everyone at the party was a past or present employee of Mackenzie, where I used to work, so it was like a mini reunion of sorts, catching up with everyone!  We sipped tea and munched on snacks and Sydney played with a couple of other kids there.  It was a nice way to spend a rainy afternoon!

Sydney and Daddy went for a tricycle ride yesterday and found this beautiful hydrangea.  I've had it in a vase in my kitchen for a day now, it's nice to have fresh flowers in the house at this time of year when most everything else is done blooming!

This coming week is Sydney's first full five day in a row week at preschool!  It will be such a big step for her to spend a full twenty hours at school this week!  I'm excited for her and for me!  I'm hoping to get lots done and to be able to squeeze in a little relaxation time as well!
