Circle Craft

This morning while Sydney was at school I had the pleasure of spending a few hours at the annual Circle Craft Market downtown at the convention centre.  I so look forward to this event every year, there are so many amazing artists and talented people selling everything from pottery and paintings to food and textiles and jewellery.  I could have stayed there all day looking at all of the wonderful things!  It was beautifully decorated and so festive, really got me into the holiday spirit!

This year I got a few pieces to add to my pottery collection that I started a few years ago from M & JM Claret who make their pottery locally.  Last year I got a teapot and some mugs, this year I completed the set with the sugar and creamer and some more mugs to go along.  I am so looking forward to having friends over for tea to enjoy the new pottery!

And speaking of tea, I got the most precious hand painted table cloth and napkins made by Danyne Johnston, with cupcakes on them no less, for Sydney and I to use at her little table when we're having tea parties.  She is so enjoying the new tea set that she got for her birthday and today we also opened up the wooden cupcake stand that Sydney's friend William gave her for her birthday.

William's Mom, Michelle, is one of the most kind and thoughtful people that I know!  She has literally been shopping for months for Sydney's gift and kept everything in keeping with our cupcake theme!  She even gave Sydney her present in a Hello Kitty bag with cupcakes on it!  Over the top!

Along with the wooden cupcake stand, Michelle ordered Sydney a Hello Kitty poncho from Marks and Spencer in the UK, gave her a cupcake inside-out doll, cupcake stickers and an awesome 'Create your Own Puzzle' from the Victoria Art Gallery.  It was such a lovely and generous gift!  Sydney is so enjoying everything!

I've started to get into Christmas shopping mode today too and picked up a couple of beautiful stained glass star ornaments today at the Circle Craft fair too.

This afternoon was filled with more painting and sparkles as Sydney created more thank you cards to send out to her friends for her birthday gifts:

The weather was amazing today, so we took full advantage of it and went out for a walk and tricycle ride in the neighborhood.

Sydney loved finding more mushrooms in the grass!

She collected some leaves in the back of her tricycle

And even sat for some pretty photos amongst the leaves under a tree!

We came home to get ready for swimming lessons, but not before Sydney opened a couple more presents.
Her friend Myrtle got her this very sweet Corolle baby that can go in the bathtub and comes with her own pink ducky!  Love it!

Addison, Sydney's friend from preschool, gave her a Hello Kitty hairband making kit and a jewellery box making kit.  I promised Sydney when we weren't in a hurry to get out the door, that we would take the time to do both!

Had another great day at swimming lessons today after a couple of weeks off being so busy!  Sydney got to choose a birthday gift from the birthday basket today, she chose a yo-yo!  She and Daddy will have fun playing with it for sure!

Tonight for an appy before dinner I made some crab stuffed mushrooms.  They were so delicious, filled with cream cheese and crab along with some great spices!

Click here for the recipe if you want to try making them.  They are super easy and so delicious, would be great to serve to company or to take to a potluck!

Happy Wednesday!
