Sugar Cookies

This morning Sydney and I spent a special time with her preschool class making sugar cookies with them.  The preschool encourages parents to share any special interests or talents that they have with the class, so I thought that Syd and I could share something that we love to do together, baking!

It was such fun making cookies with the kids today.  They had such a great time rolling and cutting out the cookies into the shapes of stars, dreidels and menorahs.  They loved putting sprinkles on top:

This is how they looked in the end, super cute!

Sydney's teacher Jen and I made a couple of cookie sheets of star cookies while the kids were making theirs, to save for the kid's class Hanukkah party happening on Wednesday.

What a great morning it was in class with Syd!  We so enjoyed it!

We got home this afternoon and decided that we would deliver a few of the Christmas gifts that we had put together to our Dunbar friends.  We pulled out all of the baking that my friend Lori and I did together and divided it into boxes and Sydney and I drove around and delivered our bags stuffed with Christmas Cheer to a few of our friends.  I love that we made so many homemade things this year and am so hoping that our friends love them!

We got home late this afternoon to welcome our friends Jack and Christina over for an afternoon playdate.  It was so good to see them and have a visit before everyone heads off for the holidays!

Tonight was the third night of Hanukkah.  Sydney could hardly wait for Paul to get home from the office to light the candles tonight!  She got two little gifts today, a sparkly gold purse and a handmade insulated lunch bag:

What a fun time of year this is!
