Water Week

It has been 28 days and counting with no rain and nothing but blue skies and sunshine in Vancouver, we are loving it!  Syd and I have been enjoying some great water time this week with a visit to the water park, Maple Grove Pool and the lake today!  It's been a great way to cool off on these hot and sticky days!

Syd and I met up with our friends Michelle and William and Lori and Gwendolyn on Wednesday at Maple Grove Pool.  I have had this pool on my summer bucket list two years in a row and was thrilled to finally be able to make it there, it is such a great place for kids!  The pool is shallow and the water fresh and cool.  Syd loved going down the slide and bobbing around with the new arm floatation rings that she got from Rachel's birthday party.

I love that we ran into three other Moms that we knew there, it is such a popular place to be with the kids in the summer!

Today we drove out to Coquitlam to meet up with my sister and nephew and went to Buntzen Lake.  What an absolutely beautiful spot, the lake is gorgeous and clear and surrounded by mountains on all sides!  It was a blazing hot day there and we enjoyed playing in the water, having lunch and lounging on the beach.

Love this shot of my sister and nephew Kenan against the beautiful backdrop of the lake!

Syd is such a beach girl, she was happy as a clam playing in the sand and water with her buckets and water gun and floating on Kenan's boogie board.

Kenan had a nice nap for a few hours in the sun while we were there!  So relaxed!

Syd and I spent a morning in the kitchen again this week, making another huge batch of zucchini pancakes and trying out a recipe for blender muffins, they were great!

Last night we joined our friends Rodney and Lynne at their home for a backyard barbecue and impromptu celebration of Rodney's 70th birthday!  It was such fun visiting with everyone and enjoying a summer evening together.

Paul and I had an evening to ourselves this week too while Alexa was here watching Syd.  We decided to head to the Costco downtown to pick up some shelving for our new storage room and then walked into Yaletown and had dinner on the patio at Urban Thai Bistro.

It has been such a lovely few days of really enjoying being outdoors and embracing summer in all it's glory!
